Job Description:Editorial Assistant- Engineering & Management Group

responsibilities:

  • The editorial assistant should collect quality data based on expertise from Universities and relevant departments in the given timelines
  • Editorial assistant should form editorial board with expertise database
  • Cross check Journal web pages daily and should make it flawless
  • Working directly with the editors and authors to secure timely submission and post-delivery progress to publication
  • In charge for drafting replies to scientists and voice mails whenever required
  • Manuscript processing flow should be maintained by the editorial assistant for good running of journals
  • Releasing issues followed by campaigning
  • Propose new ideas for getting more articles, manuscripts, memberships and collaborations
  • Achieving daily/weekly/monthly targets of journals
  • Participating in editorial advisory board meetings
  • Liable for attending all team meetings scheduled by management
  • Should maintain record of work updates (Includes mail sending, replies, abstract/Manuscript(s) data & email communication)
  • Regular blog posting and updates in social networking sites should be done

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:

  • University Post Graduation in Management/Engineering related fields.
  • Certified with course in English is most preferable.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Individual must possess a minimum of 1 or 2 years of experience in handling editorial works.
  • Background in any of the following areas preferred: English, copyediting, journalism, or science.
  • Experience working with scientists
  • Assistant managing editor should have a good command over the language, grammar and also on his communication skills. His communication skills play a major role as he should be able to communicate what he is trying to say so that the orders can be carried out and the work can be implemented

SKILLS:

  • Excellent people and organizational skills, including good written and oral communications.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Need strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure
  • Time management should be the top most priority for reaching the deadlines

Reporting:

  • Report on the status of target to Director, Manager and Team Leader regularly.
  • Responsible to send the work update with collection excel sheet daily to respective TL/ASM/Manager.
